Puella Magi - Yuya

Yuya was a Magical Girl who made a contract with Kyubey a year before the events of our Puella Magi Madoka Magica roleplay story. She was a sweet girl with kindness to spare and an optimistic nature, and she was deeply in love with Kento, a senior student. The two were inseperable and when Kyubey offered a contract to Yuya to become a Magical Girl, Kento expressed much worry and distress. ''How can I let you go out there alone?''

The lovers thought of a wish that would resolve this problem; Yuya asked Kyubey if she could share a part of her magical powers with her friend Kento. Kyubey agreed, however he explained that even though the Soul Gem would only be linked to Yuya, it would serve as the magic source for both of them. They would also be forced to share the same magical weapon. They were warned that because of that link, they would consume the Soul Gem's magical energy quickly.

The young couple agreed and Yuya was transformed into a Magical Girl. Her wish made it possible for Kento to use a bit of magic and fight Witches by her side, and for a time everything was good. They battled many Witches and Familiars together, their bond of love still strong. They had to be careful not to abuse their magical powers to preserve Yuya's Soul Gem, and with time they came up with many ways to make this shared magical source work perfectly. After all, defeating Witches as a team was easier than alone!

One night, however, this all came to an end. Yuya and Kento were patrolling the city as usual, searching for Witches or familiars, when they found a very powerful Witch's Labyrinth. It had appeared in a church and they knew that if it was left unchecked, this Witch would cause many deaths. Together they entered the Labyrinth and headed for the source of the dark magic. It was an especially difficult Labyrinth, and the Witch's familiars were stronger than anything they had fought before. Forced to use more magic than usual, they were starting to drain away all of Yuya's Soul Gem.

''Yuya, I don't think this is worth it... Your Soul Gem is already tainted more than half.'' Kento was worried as he showed his lover her magical gem.

''I know, but...'' Yuya paused. She was worried as well, but she quicky shook her head and smiled. ''...but we can't let this Witch do as she pleases!''

She was so kindhearted. Kento sighed and kissed her on the forehead, making her blush. ''...you're right.'' He smiled back at her.

When they finally reached the Witch's hideout, both were trying their best to stay sharp and focused. The Soul Gem was more tainted than not, and they knew that they had to finish the battle quickly. As they took out their weapons, the Witch turned to face them. ''Are you ready, love?'' Yuya asked enthusiastically.

''Always.''

Letting go of each other's hands for the last time, both of them dashed toward the massive Witch. They couldn't lose, they were together!

The battle was short. Both unable to do anything against the Witch, they were lying on the ground next to each other, barely breathing. Kento could feel a horrible pain in his chest as he turned to look at Yuya, trying to strech his arm to grab her hand. ''Yuya...'' He could barely speak. She turned to look at him too. Her magical girl costume was ripped in many places and her body was covered in cuts and bruises. Tears were sliding down her cheeks but she smiled at him.

''...looks like she's stronger than we thought...'' Yuya still had that kind and optimistic tone, even though she was in such pain. ''...I don't think we can make it out this way.''

Kento tried to talk, but his chest hurt so much the tears were starting to blur his vision. He saw Yuya get up painfully, her hands holding on tightly to her now pitch-black Soul Gem. She was out of his reach, he couldn't get up. She turned to look at him one last time and smiled. ''I know what to do to beat her and save you!''

As Kento watched powerless, Yuya walked towards the Witch and brandished her Soul Gem in front of her. A bright flash of light blinded him and he felt a powerful shockwave blowing him away from the ground. ''Yuya!'' was all he could say as he felt his consciouness slowly fading away.

When Kento came to his senses, he was lying in the church. He looked around to find Yuya, but he quickly realized the facts; she was gone. The Witch's Labyrinth had vanished and he couldn't feel any magical aura around him. He painfully got up and looked at his hands.

He was holding one of Yuya's Star-shaped hairclips.

She was gone. He still felt magical power within him, but she was gone.
